Last week I was very busy promoting "Children Of Belas Knap". It's a glam life, you know! My promotional activities were mostly restricted to Winchcombe but that's OK - it's where the story is set so it's obviously fitting.
On Thursday I was a guest on the Radio Winchcombe Folk Collective Show hosted by Kevin O'TheFolk (amazingly, his real name!). I had a great time talking about the album and the book and Kevin played three tracks: Sun Will Return, Snowfall / The Unquiet Grave and Madia's Dance.
Less enjoyable was taking part in Kevin's quiz, "Folk or Fake", which is a cruel and unusual punishment to dish out to a guest! I got 5 out of 10, which - though decidedly average - isn't the lowest ever score, so I felt I got away with it reasonably unscathed.
Radio Winchcombe is an amazing community asset, run entirely by volunteers, so it was great to be part of it for one evening.
A huge thank you to Kevin for inviting me onto the show and for making the experience so enjoyable. You can hear the whole thing on catch-up on Mixcloud.

Then on Saturday I was signing copies of the CD/paperback bundle in the Undercroft Gift Shop on the ground floor of Winchcombe Museum. This was a particularly poignant venue for a book signing because - as you'll know if you've read the story - a lot of the action of the story centres around the museum.
I have to admit I imagined sitting there looking like Billy Nomates for 3 hours but I can happily report that quite a few people came in to say hello. They even bought books and CDs, which I dutifully scrawled my name and a dedication on. It was great to be able to tell people about the project and I have to say I really enjoyed it. Later on, Jack and Hannah - who sang on the album - also came along, and my wife Helen brought me a much-needed coffee, so it was a pleasant family occasion too.
Many thanks go to Claire and Guy for the book signing opportunity and for taking copies of the CD/book bundle to sell in their shop. I believe there are still some signed copies available now if you're quick!
